Thankfulness
We’re thankful for God’s protection over our family as we hear of people who are ill and for God’s provision in this difficult economy. We see that God is faithful as He has always been. We would like to thank you who have continued to pray, give, bless and encourage us.
Shine like Stars
OUR NEIGHBOUR PAINTED US A SMALL ROBINSON SIGN FOR OUR FRONT DOOR. HE HAS ALSO COME TO OUR CHURCH WITH US (HE DROVE ALL OF US IN HIS 1980 MUSTANG).
WE HAVE MET SOME NEW NEIGHBOURS, TOO. ONE IS A RUSSIAN LADY AND ANOTHER FAMILY IS FROM KAZHAKSTAN BY WAY OF GREECE (THE ONES WITH THE LITTLE BOY WHO IS JASPER’S BEST BUDDY AND PARTNER IN CRIME, WITH WHOM JASPER LOCKED HIMSELF IN THE BOOT OF THE AB CAR).
Ukraine and beyond
WE’RE JUMPING RIGHT BACK INTO A FULL SCHEDULE OF SCHOOL, HOME LIFE AND MINISTRY. WE FEEL VERY REFRESHED AFTER OUR FAMILY TIME IN THE UKRAINE AND WE’RE THANKFUL FOR SAFETY DURING TRAVEL AND STAY WITH BEN, TANYA AND FAMILY.
A few of my favourite things
BRYONY (JUST TURNED 11): MY FAVOURITE SUBJECT AT SCHOOL IS TEXTILES. WE WORK CREATIVELY WITH DIFFERENT MATERIALS AND NEEDLE AND THREAD...
thanking God
It all happened so fast that I still have a hard time believing it happened. For the last six months I’ve been looking for a part-time job to fit in with kids schedules and Atlantic Bridge. Many people are struggling with keeping their jobs or finding new ones so I was praying that in God’s timing I would find the right job.
summer time
We still have six weeks of school left before our six-week summer break, and we’re already enjoying beautiful, warm weather. We’ve been spoiled with having so many family members coming to visit and seeing some more on our england trip.
first signs of spring
It’s always so good to meet up with family again and to encourage and be encouraged. We thank God as we think about each of our siblings and spouses as they are all walking in the truth. In the last two months we have been able to visit with my bother and family (from the US) and Rip’s two sisters and their families (from the US and the UK). My sister and family will, Lord willing, be visiting us in May (from the US). God is good!
april showers
Amber: We were able to spend a couple days with Theo (my brother), Sarah and Peter (5). They are here in the Netherlands for two weeks to prepare for their move here in 2010 (they will live about 2 hours from us).
They are on deputation in the US and hope to plant a church in the province of Limburg. That particular area is 95% Catholic. The cousins had a brilliant time getting to know each other. Moxie and Jasper met Peter for the first time and had a blast.
this months update
It was wonderful to have Bruce and Bonnie with us for 10 days. We were able to visit a museum, have fun at an indoor playground, go swimming and watch Moxie’s “voetbal” match. The Kruiningen team lost this game but won the week after with a 6-0 score.
what we're up to
Bryony, Moxie and Jasper are doing well in school and in their other activities. Bryony is now part of the student council which meets once a month. They talk about different issues that affect the students, such as: safety around the school, how to deal with bullying; and generate ideas, like having a vegetable garden or ideas for the school fair. Moxie joined the local “voetbal” club (soccer) that meets on Fridays. Half of his class is part of the club so it’s an informal way for us to meet other parents and for Moxie to participate in a team sport.
